In summer they hunt with bunta; in winter, with arrows.

But when the weather turns to fall, the bunta leaves tree fall too. Two girls slipping free of their watchers play amongst the crisp leaves. They run and climb and eventually collapse, lungs gasping in the crisp air, cheeks flushed and hearts happy. Amongst the smell of dead leaves and changing seasons, they hold each other's hands.

They are one.

When Osha remembers Mae and allows herself to miss her, this is what she pictures: her sister giggling with her under the bunta tree, piles of fallen leaves around them.
